Upload cinema
I have to admit: I am a film freak. One or two festivals a year, Pathe Unlimited Pass. But i’m a filmfreak of the oldskool: I like to see movies at a big screen. Ok, I have a YouTube account, but that’s almost empty. Vimeo: for me a complete new world. Home Cinema: no way. Till now.
Now I stumbled across something new: Upload Cinema. A film club – members only, and members only by invitation, so pretty exclusive
– with every first monday in the month a screening of “the best of the web”. The screening is in “De Uitkijk” , one of the oldest cinema’s in The Netherlands and in my student days – so in the seventies – a real favorite.
Upload Cinema is an initiative of Barbara de Wijn and Dagan Cohen (founders) together with Erwin van der Zande (editor in chief of Bright) and Dana Linssen (film critic of NRC Handelsblad and editor in chief of Filmkrant).
The Upload Cinema website gives a nice extract of some web jewels. I choose this award winning, beautiful and confusing one of dutch artist Evelien Lohbeck:
